Programme Content/Outcomes
Most of the time the term stress is seen as an overused word and an excuse to take time off by the employees.
Hence managers seem not to take it seriously, but it is an important issue for all managers and organisations.
Stress is now recognised as an illness by the Health and Safety at Work Act 1947, and if organisations do not take it seriously, they are breaking the law!
Many UK organisations take this subject very seriously and create Stress Management Policies and Occupational health Schemes.

This module examines stress management in the workplace.

To develop knowledge and understanding of stress management as required by a practising or potential leader/manager at ILM Level 3.

At the end of this unit you will be able to:

• Describe the symptoms of stress in yourself or in others
• Examine the causes and impact of stress on the organisation
• Identify practical stress management techniques
• Identify and describe how to manage your own stress and minimise stress in others
• Outline management responsibilities and actions in relation to work stress.
