This online e-learning fundamentals training course has been developed for anyone who is new to, will soon be involved in, or is currently involved in caring for someone with dementia, whether within the family or as a professional, either at home or as part of a team in a residential facility.

A workbook is included for each unit that contains questions relating to the knowledge gained throughout the training course and/or in your work experience. It can be completed online or printed out and filled in manually and handed to your Manager for evaluation, if applicable.

In addition there is a Learning Pack that can be downloaded.

The full Dementia training course provides a much more in-depth introduction to the condition: its definition, causes and effects on people as it progresses. The training course then looks at the importance of good communication between carers and the people they care for and examines ways of improving communication in different situations.
