Urinary catheterisation is an intervention performed by health care workers to enable emptying of the bladder, or instillation of a solution / medication, by insertion of a catheter. Although it is a common procedure, it carries many risks and is a significant cause of healthcare acquired infections.

This course has been developed in partnership with experts from Bradford and Airedale Teaching PCT. It supports the Skills for Health suite of competencies for continence - catheterisation.

This module is targeted primarily at healthcare workers in NHS organisations, though the information is applicable to anyone working in the healthcare sector with responsibilities for catheterisation.

The content of this course has been independently certified as conforming to universally accepted Continuous Professional Development (CPD) guidelines.

This product allows the student to print a certificate from the course on sucessful completion.
